The company began business in March, 1937, operating under the corporate name of Southern Fire and Marine Insurance Company until 1953, when the present name was adopted.

WBS provides the resolution service that forms a part of the policy coverage. Great Lakes General Agency
The IDentity Guardian Insurance Policy is distributed through Great Lakes General Agency, a wholesale general agency based in Cleveland, Ohio. Retail agents are contracted with Great Lakes GA to distribute the product.
